Instruments

  • Flute- A high sounding woodwind instrument that you play by blowing air across a hole to make a sound.

    Oboe- Another high sounding woodwind instrument that uses a double reed.

    Clarinet- A woodwind instrument that uses a single reed to make sound.

    Alto Saxophone- A woodwind instrument that is made of brass and uses a single reed to make a sound. 

    Trumpet- The highest sounding brass instrument that uses valves to change notes.

    French Horn- A brass instrument with over 12 feet of coiled tubing.

    Trombone/Braitone- The lowest sounding brass instruments offered- the trombone uses a slide to change notes and the baritone uses valves like a trumpet.

    Percussion- You will learn a wide variety of instruments beginning with the bells, and then adding snare drum, tambourine, triangle, and many more. 

  • Violin- The violin is the smallest and highest pitched instrument of the string family.

    Viola- The viola is played in the same manner as the violin but is slightly larger, therefore, lower in pitch.

    Cello- The cello is the second largest instrument, when you play the cello, you must be seated. 

    Double Bass- The double bass is the largest and lowest instrument in the orchestra, it is played while standing up.
